A steel frame with a wood face
Most people looking for a gate think they have two choices: a wood gate that looks warm and sags in four years, or an iron gate that lasts forever and shows the whole street what is behind it.
There is a third. We build the frame in steel, weld and powder coat it, then fit wood panels into it. You get the privacy and the look of a wood gate with a frame that will not drop on its hinges, will not rot at the bottom rail, and will still be square in twenty years.
It is some of our favourite work and a good part of what we build now. The wood can be matched to an existing fence, and the steel can be finished in any powder coat colour — most people go black, but that is habit, not a rule.

Five steps from measuring your opening to a gate that fits.
Measure
We show up and measure the opening. We check the posts, swing direction, grade, and how much clearance you have.
Choose wood
You pick the wood and how the panels run — horizontal, vertical, or mixed. We'll tell you what holds up and what needs more upkeep.
Design
We lay out the frame, panel sizes, hardware, and latch. You sign off before anything gets cut.
Fabricate
We weld the steel frame in the shop and powder coat it. Wood panels get cut, fitted, and set into the frame.
Deliver
The finished gate comes to your property ready to hang. Wood is sealed. Steel is powder coated.

What wood do you use?
Mostly cedar and redwood — whatever's good for exterior use and what you want to look at every day. We bring samples when we come out to measure.
How much work is the wood?
You'll want to seal or stain it every year or two, depending on sun. The steel frame is powder coated — wash it if it gets dirty, that's about it.
Can people see through it?
No. Solid wood panels, no gaps. That's the whole point — you get privacy without an all-iron gate that everyone can see through.
Can I see wood samples first?
Yes. When we come out to measure, we bring samples. You pick the grain, color, and which way the boards run.
How does this compare to an all-iron gate?
More work because of the wood panels and fit-up. All-iron picket gates go faster. We quote both so you can decide what fits your place.
